Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in commercial landscaping (hard and soft), sustainable construction, and civil engineering. This individual will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of projects, from planning through delivery, ensuring all technical, contractual, financial, and environmental objectives are achieved. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning project outcomes with Build With Hemp’s strategic objectives, including carbon reduction, regenerative practices, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities· Lead project delivery for medium and large-scale commercial landscaping (retaining structures, panels) and soft landscaping (planting schemes, soil remediation, ecological enhancements).
· Develop comprehensive project plans, covering programs, milestones, resourcing, procurement schedules, and risk registers.
· Manage the whole procurement process, including sourcing sustainable suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring ethical supply chain compliance.
· Draft, negotiate, and administer customer contracts, including management of variations, extensions, and change orders.
· Implement robust quality assurance systems, monitoring workmanship, compliance, and sustainability outcomes.
· Identify and mitigate risks to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
· Oversee monthly reporting on progress, program performance, budget variances, and sustainability KPIs.
· Apply civil engineering expertise to ensure infrastructure, groundwork, and drainage solutions are robust and sustainable.
· Manage subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes.
· Provide leadership and mentoring to site managers, engineers, and junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
· Ensure alignment of project outcomes with Build With Hemp’s sustainability goals and strategic growth plans.
Qualifications & Experience· Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, or related discipline.
· Proven experience delivering large-scale hard and soft landscaping projects for commercial, civic, or residential developments.
· Proven track record in customer contract management, including negotiation, administration, and compliance.
· Experience managing contracts under NEC or JCT frameworks.
· Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including groundworks, site infrastructure, and drainage.
· Knowledge of sustainable building practices; experience with hemp-based or other bio-based materials is desirable.
· Familiarity with construction software such as AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, estimating systems, and MS Project.
· Experience delivering projects valued at £1m+ with responsibility for program, quality, and budget control.
· Experience in public realm, urban regeneration, or green infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

Salary: GBP 36000 - 60000 per year
