Job Description
Career.aliyucares is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Climate Change Analyst to join our dynamic remote team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in conducting in-depth research, analyzing complex climate data, and developing actionable strategies for our diverse client portfolio. This position demands a keen understanding of climate science, environmental policy, and economic impacts, coupled with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, compelling narratives for various stakeholders. You will contribute to projects spanning climate risk assessment, emissions reduction strategies, adaptation planning, and sustainability reporting, working collaboratively with a global network of experts. We are looking for an individual who thrives in an autonomous setting, possesses exceptional analytical capabilities, and is deeply committed to addressing the global climate challenge through rigorous, evidence-based analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on climate change trends, impacts, and mitigation/adaptation strategies.
Utilize statistical software and geographic information systems (GIS) to analyze large datasets related to climate variables, emissions, and environmental indicators.
Develop and apply climate models and tools for scenario planning, risk assessments, and impact projections.
Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and policy briefs for clients and internal stakeholders, clearly communicating complex technical information.
Monitor global and national climate policies, regulations, and market mechanisms (e.g., carbon markets), providing expert interpretation and recommendations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate climate considerations into broader business strategies and projects.
Contribute to the development of new service offerings and methodologies in the climate change and sustainability domain.
Engage with clients to understand their needs, present findings, and facilitate strategic discussions around climate resilience.
Required Skills
Master's degree in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Geography, Sustainability, or a related field.
Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in climate change analysis, environmental consulting, or sustainability roles.
Strong proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) and statistical methods.
Expertise in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial data analysis and visualization.
In-depth knowledge of climate science, greenhouse gas accounting, and international climate frameworks (e.g., UNFCCC, IPCC reports).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in a relevant discipline.
Experience with carbon footprinting, life cycle assessment (LCA), or TCFD reporting frameworks.
Familiarity with specific industry sectors such as energy, finance, agriculture, or infrastructure.
Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
Fluency in additional languages.
