An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Carbon Reduction Specialist in Pretoria. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading initiatives to minimise the carbon footprint across diverse service offerings. What You'll Do
As a Carbon Reduction Specialist, you will be at the forefront of our client's commitment to sustainability. Your role will involve assessing current practices, developing and implementing carbon reduction strategies, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and promoting sustainability within the organisation. You will also be responsible for educating and engaging stakeholders on sustainability initiatives.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of greenhouse gas emissions across all divisions, identifying primary emission sources.
• Create and implement effective carbon reduction plans, incorporating renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing.
• Ensure adherence to environmental laws and regulations, keeping abreast of changes and integrating them into company policies.
• Advise on transitioning to sustainable business models.
• Recommend and oversee the adoption of green technologies, such as carbon capture, alternative fuels, and electrification.
• Educate and engage employees, clients, and partners on sustainability initiatives.
What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in carbon management or sustainability roles.
• In-depth knowledge of carbon accounting standards and environmental regulations.
• Proven ability to develop and implement carbon reduction strategies.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
