Business Unit Leader: Climate Risk

Mass Staffing Projects is seeking a Business Unit Leader for Climate Risk in South Africa. The ideal candidate should have a Master's degree in a relevant field and over 10 years of experience in climate change, including 3-5 years in a management role. Responsibilities include leading climate risk initiatives and developing proposals. Key areas of expertise required are climate finance, ESG due diligence, and climate impact assessments.

• Requirements*:

- Advanced degree (Master’s) in a discipline relevant to climate change e.g., environmental science, environmental management, geography, development studies, air quality
- 10+ years’ experience in climate change or similar discipline
- 3-5 years’ experience in a management or senior technical role
- Demonstrable experience developing technical and financial proposals for climate change assignments
- Technical and project management experience in at least three of the following areas:

- climate finance
- environmental, social, and governance (ESG) due diligence
- climate risk assessment
- climate change impact assessment
- greenhouse gas inventories/carbon footprint assessments aligned with relevant international standards
- climate change adaptation strategies
- climate change mitigation strategies
