Business Unit Leader: Climate Risk

Mass Staffing Projects is seeking a Business Unit Leader for Climate Risk in Gauteng, South Africa. The ideal candidate should have an advanced degree related to climate change, over 10 years of experience in the field, and 3-5 years in a management role. Responsibilities include developing proposals and managing projects in climate finance, ESG due diligence, risk assessment, and more. This is a full-time position.

Do the words “climate change” send shivers down your spine? If you answered YES, then it’s time to send in your CV. A leading environmental, social and governance (ESG) advisor to Business, Investors, and Financial Institutions is looking for a Climate Risk enthusiast to lead their Business Unit.

Requirements:

•Advanced degree (Master’s) in a discipline relevant to climate change e.g., environmental science, environmental management, geography, development studies, air quality

•10+ years’ experience in climate change or similar discipline

•3-5 years’ experience in a management or senior technical role

•Demonstrable experience developing technical and financial proposals for climate change assignments

•Technical and project management experience in at least three of the following areas:

oclimate finance

oenvironmental, social, and governance (ESG) due diligence

oclimate risk assessment

oclimate change impact assessment

ogreenhouse gas inventories/carbon footprint assessments aligned with relevant international standards

oclimate change adaptation strategies

oclimate change mitigation strategies
