Job Description

The Nevada Department of Wildlife is hiring a Biologist 4 in Las Vegas, NV, responsible for supervising fisheries, wildlife, and habitat management projects. Duties include data collection, project proposal development, staff training, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders. This full-time position requires fieldwork and oversight of staff performance.
The Position: Biologists conduct fisheries, wildlife and/or habitat management projects and research studies including data collection, analysis and interpretation; develop and implement project proposals and work plans; prepare recommendations; and participate in public relations activities.Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.This Biologist 4 position is the Southern Regional Game Supervisor and is responsible to coordinate with Game Division and field staff to effectively and efficiently conduct both field and data management work for the projects. This position will ensure that field staff has adequate direction and guidance, resources, and that critical communication between all stakeholders is maintained to meet the objectives of the projects.
