Northrop Grumman is hiring an Associate Engineering Environmental Test for Space Systems in Virginia. The role involves supporting a large Environmental Test facility, working hands-on with testing equipment, and directing technician staff. Candidates should have a STEM degree and up to 2 years of test engineering experience. The position requires the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance and may involve occasional shifts and weekends.

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Dulles, VA specializes in the Integration, Test and Launch of the Space Systems for Commercial, DOD and NASA customers. Seeking an Associate Level Engineer in support of a large Environmental Test facility in the Space Industry. Will work with and direct highly talented and motivated Technician staff. Will support other engineers in the planning, design and implementation and testing of complex test setups in the areas of Vibration, Thermal Vacuum, Static measurements and mass properties among other areas. Position is for an Engineer seeking the ability to work hands on with complicated testing equipment in an environment that is dynamic and rewarding.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 to 2 years Test engineering experience
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret Government Security clearance.
• Energetic person with great people skills.
• Ability to support occasional shifts and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferred Bachelor degree types – Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer with some Mechanical Background.
• Knowledge of general Environmental Testing in a Space or Defense manufacturing environment.
• TS SCI security clearance.
• Hands on experience in setup and running vibration equipment.
• Hands on experience with Thermal Vacuum testing and equipment.
• Knowledge of Vacuum theories and equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft office and Windows file structure.
• Knowledge in basic electrical circuits AC/DC.
Salary Range: $79,000.00 - $92,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
