Position requires fieldwork. To include, but not limited to, being capable of lifting 50 pounds, walking long distances, and working in hot and humid conditions.The University of Maryland Horn Point Laboratory (HPL) is seeking a post-doctoral Assistant Research Scientist to develop and apply numerical models to explore the design of nature-based solution projects, including living shorelines and oyster reef restoration. The design research in the project team is led by Dr. William Nardin. This position does require fieldwork.

Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D in Environmental Science/Engineering or related field is required. Demonstrated skills in numerical modeling and data analysis are also required.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with interdisciplinary research, such as coupled hydrodynamic-morphodynamic models, is preferred. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and stakeholders.
