Job Description

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) seeks a highly skilled professional to serve as Director, Disaster Risk Management. This is a key leadership position within the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department, responsible for advancing ADB's disaster resilience work in the Asia-Pacific region.
About the Role

This senior management position will lead the development and implementation of ADB's disaster risk management policy and operational framework. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in disaster risk management, with a strong understanding of multilateral development banks and their strategic objectives in promoting disaster and climate resilience.
• Lead a team of specialists to support operations departments and developing member countries in identifying strategic opportunities to enhance disaster and climate resilience.
• Provide technical guidance and support to operations departments to integrate disaster and climate resilience considerations into regional and country strategies, and project design.
• Mobilize external resources for disaster risk management and establish trust and special funds.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. They should have at least 15 years of professional experience in disaster risk management policy, strategy, and operations work, with international experience working in several countries.
• Strong multi-disciplinary competence and experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven management capability and well-established leadership track record in international institutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
