AP Specialist

Bioenergy Devco is seeking an AP Specialist to manage vendor invoice processing, ensure timely payments, and maintain vendor relationships within the Accounting department. The role requires strong analytical skills and a minimum of two years of relevant experience. The position is full-time and located in Annapolis, MD, requiring the candidate to reside within a commutable distance to the office.
About the position

In this role, you will work within the Accounting department overseeing the maintenance of vendors, processing of transactions, and financial reporting. We are looking for a candidate who combines strong analytical and problem-solving skills with basic accounts payable principles. The ideal candidate will have proven financial experience, ability to complete tasks in an efficient, timely manner, and possess the ability to work both independently and in a team setting. This position reports directly to our Controller and is in historic downtown Annapolis, MD.

Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day vendor invoice processing of a complex company structure
,
• Ensure that bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner
,
• Handle vendor issues, which can include analysis of vendor accounts
,
• Maintain Master Vendor List
,
• Maintain good vendor relationships, as needed
,
• Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as vendor account maintenance, reconciliation and recording of entries, as needed
,
• Assist in maintaining all corporate related accounts
,
• Streamline and document current and future workflows
,
• Other Ad Hoc projects, reports, and analysis

Requirements
• Minimum of two years' relevant experience
,
• College level coursework in accounting preferred
,
• Experience with Bill.com, a plus
,
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
,
• Detailed-oriented, known for accuracy and high-quality work
,
• Good system knowledge and understanding of data flows (Intacct, Excel, etc.)
,
• Highly motivated team player and self-starter with desire to learn the business
,
• Must reside within a commutable distance to our office in Annapolis, MD
