Role Summary

The Analyst, Sustainability will help drive stakeholder engagement, support philanthropic programs and contribute to strategic program management in partnership with the Senior Director, Sustainability & Philanthropy. This role will provide executive-level support to the Senior Director and, as needed, the department’s leadership team on these areas of responsibility and others that may emerge in pursuit of department priorities.

The right candidate will bring a proven track record and strong skills in corporate sustainability, NGO and other stakeholder management, and corporate philanthropy. You will have strong knowledge of the landscape of issues and stakeholder ecosystems across sustainability topics most material to Rivian, including climate change, responsible sourcing, materials and circularity. This role will supplement the Senior Director in internal and external meetings and communications, bring knowledge about the variety of cross-sector stakeholders working in areas critical to the success of Rivian’s sustainability efforts, and prepare department leadership for participation in and thought leadership within industry and multistakeholder collaborations and partnerships that can advance Rivian’s sustainability efforts and its leadership on key issues.

This role will analyze proactive and responsive opportunities for Rivian from a programmatic, timing, prioritization and landscape perspective, in a highly dynamic environment, providing recommendations on both who we would engage with and how.

On an as-needed basis, this role will manage critical projects and initiatives, support or execute strategic and tactical priorities simultaneously, and act as a liaison between the sustainability team and other departments within the company (or external partners). This role will also support the department leadership team in high-level meeting planning, including scheduling and preparing or supporting agendas and materials. The role reports directly to the Senior Director of Sustainability and must be able to commute to a Rivian office on a hybrid schedule (locations include Irvine, CA, Palo Alto, CA, Plymouth, MI, Atlanta, GA, Normal, IL).

Responsibilities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires both attention to detail and the ability to zoom out to drive strategic decision-making
• Excellent relationship management and proactive critical-thinking skills
• Organized and adaptable; you have the tools and habits necessary to track many different work streams while being able to reprioritize on the fly
• Exceptional project management skills and solid judgment when it comes to diagnosing, prioritizing, and solving business process challenges
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and risk management skills with a curiosity to problem-solve, analyze, and identify corrective actions to prevent a recurrence
• Deep knowledge of sustainability and philanthropy in a public company setting
• Extensive relationships in sustainability, human rights, responsible mining area, conservation and philanthropy.
