Analyst/ Consultant – Energy Transition

Idam Infrastructure Advisory Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an Analyst/Consultant for Energy Transition in New Delhi or Mumbai. Candidates should have a BE in Electrical/Mechanical and a postgraduate degree, with up to 5 years of experience. Responsibilities include conducting research and analysis on renewable energy, supporting energy modeling and forecasting, and contributing to business development activities. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of energy systems are required.

Location: Mumbai/ Delhi

Educational Qualification: BE (Electrical/ Mechanical) and Post-Graduate (MBA/ MS/ M.Tech)

Experience: Up to 5 years

Remuneration: At par with industry standards

Job Profile:
• Conduct primary and secondary research and critical analysis related to renewable energy, its technology, costs, and policy and regulatory provisions in Indian and international markets.
• Undertake data compilation, tracking, and analysis of various parameters concerning renewable energy and energy markets such as generator characteristics, costs, load forecasts, tenders, trends, etc.
• Support energy modelling and forecasting activities and projects using optimization tools, mixed integer linear programming, Monte Carlo simulations, etc.
• Configure energy models and conduct simulations and iterations on capacity expansion, dispatch, and stochastics for various use cases
• Extract, analyze, and present outputs in the form of presentations and reports
• Conduct data analysis of large data sets and draw meaningful inferences
• Support project execution through analyses, presentations, reports, etc.
• Contribute to BD/outreach activities such as preparing proposals, concept notes, discussion papers, brochures, etc., and actively support the organization of roundtables, workshops, and other types of stakeholder engagement.
• Timely completion of the assigned tasks and provide timely support to team members.

Skill Set Required:
• Strong energy modelling, optimization, statistics, data analysis skills
• Quantitative, statistical, and analytical training with ability to give attention to detail, think critically, and derive meaningful inferences and suggestions.
• Basic knowledge of power systems, renewable energy technologies, technical/financial/regulatory aspects of industry, power markets, etc.
• Strong Excel, presentation, writing, and articulation skills.
• Proactive, self-driven, collaborative, and curious to learn.

Skill Set Desired:
• Coding languages and tools (Python, R, VBA).
• Hands-on modelling experience (Plexos, PyPSA, GAMS, GridPath etc.).
• Hands-on experience in using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.

Educational Qualification:

Relevant coursework in power systems and markers, renewable energy, energy modelling, statistics, coding, data analysis, economics, etc.
