About the position
The Department of Environmental Quality is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join their Division of Air Quality. This full-time position involves working with air monitoring equipment and ensuring quality control in data collection and analysis. Responsibilities
• Follow standard operating procedures and protocols while maintaining Chain of Custody.

• Operate, troubleshoot, and repair complex air monitoring equipment.

• Conduct laboratory analysis of samples, including prepping and weighing filter material.

• Ensure quality control measures are adhered to during data collection and analysis.
,
• Work independently and manage time effectively while prioritizing tasks.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a science-related field or equivalent experience.

• Experience with analytical equipment and instruments.
,
• Knowledge of pollution monitoring principles and data collection protocols.
,
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Driver's license is required.
Nice-to-haves
• Advanced degrees in a hard science or air quality-related field.

• Experience with analytical data packages and programming in Python or R.

• Completion of the APTI 470 course or equivalent.

• Certifications from API Teledyne or Thermo Scientific related to instrument training.
