High school diploma or high school equivalency.

A minimum of two years of experience in an administrative/secretarial role.

Effective communication skills including listening, oral and writing skills to process information timely and accurately. Demonstrated proficiency in personal computer skills; experience using Microsoft Office software products. Proficiency in keying and software program features based on required assessments. Effective interpersonal skills, a customer-service focus and the ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Performs varied duties to support the departmental staff and management. Process and maintain information using software specific to the function of the department or position; including licensing, dispatching, database maintenance and report generation. Maintain databases, report data and create reports on a scheduled basis and as requested. Provide administrative support to departmental staff including responding to phone inquiries, handling correspondence, travel arrangements and special meeting needs. Tasks or physical location may require personal or phone contact with customers or other outside contacts. Respond to inquiries and provide problem resolution based on established policies and procedures or past experiences. Responsibilities may include independently researching a wide variety of information requests; payroll time entry, purchasing functions including originating blanket purchase orders, checking insurance requirements; and paying releases on invoices. Depending upon location may provide support during outage situations and able to work with electric outage management system. Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques. Evaluate present practices and implement processes, concepts, training and tools to prevent, detect and correct human errors that may adversely impact the safe, reliable operation of the electric transmission and distribution system.
