Job Description

About the position

Responsibilities
• Complete the Farmer In Training Program, a full-time, six-month immersion in farming and climate resilience initiatives.

• Improve the capacity of organizations to disseminate and demonstrate climate-smart agriculture and forestry practices.

• Conduct field days, create outreach materials, and provide training specifically for underserved producers.
,
• Receive hands-on training in diversified vegetable production and/or cattle and irrigated hayfield operations.
Requirements
• Be at least 17 years old at the start of service.

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent or agree to obtain a high school diploma prior to using the earned education award.

• Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
,
• Satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check eligibility criteria.

• College degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

• Reliable transportation & proof of auto insurance.
