About the position

Plug and Play Tech Center is seeking a Ventures Associate to join our dynamic team focused on sustainability. This role is pivotal in championing our business model and sourcing innovative startups within the sustainability sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for understanding the intricacies of startup growth and will be driven to actively contribute to the expansion of our ecosystem and investment portfolio. As a Ventures Associate, you will play a crucial role in sourcing relevant startups and supporting deal teams in new investment opportunities. You will also collaborate with corporate partners to address their technology needs and assist in the overall management of our programs. In this position, you will be responsible for sourcing new startups for our vertical programs. This includes attending calls and meetings with relevant companies, building and maintaining robust relationships with local venture capitalists, universities, and corporations. Networking with startup founders at industry events and conferences will be a key part of your role, allowing you to stay connected with the latest innovations and trends in the sustainability space. Additionally, you will manage the Ventures Program by scheduling and facilitating deal flow meetings between startups and corporate partners. You will curate lists of startups tailored to the technology interests of our corporate partners and maintain ongoing relationships with industry stakeholders. Your role will also involve performing operational tasks for Plug and Play Ventures as needed, ensuring that our programs run smoothly and effectively. In terms of diligence and investment research, you will support the deal team by conducting high-level research on investment opportunities. This will involve analyzing market trends, examining the competitive landscape, and interacting with financial models to provide insights that will inform our investment decisions. Your ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively will be essential in this role, as will your advanced problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mining Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, or related fields is required.
