About the position

Reworld Harrisburg is seeking a dedicated Utility Operator to perform essential duties at our Energy from Waste Power Plant. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment, ensuring compliance with environmental practices, and maintaining cleanliness in the residue handling area. The Utility Operator will work under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and will be responsible for various tasks including maintenance, equipment repair, and waste handling.

Responsibilities
• Operate roll-off trucks, front-end loaders, and other heavy equipment associated with the residue handling system.

• Perform PM maintenance tasks and assist with minor equipment repairs.

• Handle residue removal and trash handling on the tipping floor.

• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the working areas and surrounding roadways.

• Perform painting and clean-up work as needed.

• Follow safety procedures for tasks within the plant.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.

• Ability to work an 8-hour day shift M-F, with potential overtime including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift when needed for coverage.

• Ability to take direction and work effectively alone or with others.

• Excellent communication skills to interact with shift personnel.

• Ability to wear a full-face respirator and be respiratory fit qualified.
