Job Description
Adastra is seeking a Utilities and Energy Industry Expert for a part-time, contract role in Canada. The position involves leveraging expertise to develop data-driven solutions in the utilities and energy sectors, collaborating with the sales team to address client needs, and presenting customized proposals. The role requires occasional on-site presence for meetings, focusing on sustainability and innovative data management practices.

In this role, you’ll leverage your specialized expertise to drive impactful data and analytics solutions tailored to unique industry challenges and opportunities. You’ll collaborate closely with our sales team to understand client needs, propose customized solutions, and showcase the value of Adastra’s offerings.
Location: Across Canada
Position Type: Contract, estimated duration of 1 year with the possibility of extension
Employment Type: Part-Time (4–6 hours per week during regular business hours)
Work Type: Hybrid — occasional on-site presence required for meetings
Responsibilities:
• Develop a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing utilities and energy companies, including the transformation towards sustainability, renewable energy, effective data management, and digital service innovation
• Partner with the sales team to identify potential clients, assess their pain points and objectives, and map Adastra’s solutions to meet these needs effectively
• Craft and present custom proposals that showcase Adastra’s capabilities, with a focus on data management, advanced analytics, and intelligent automation, directly addressing client needs
• Conduct PoC demonstrations to validate the practicality and impact of Adastra’s solutions for prospective clients in the utilities and energy sector
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical insights and guidance to clients and the sales team, ensuring solutions align with industry trends and best practices
• Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices within the utilities and energy sectors to maintain Adastra’s competitive advantage and industry relevance
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• Extensive experience within the utilities and/or energy industries at an executive level, with a thorough understanding of operational processes, regulatory requirements, and data-driven decision-making
• Experience in the usage of data analytics, business intelligence, and emerging technologies (IoT, RPA, AI) as applied within the utilities and energy context
• Executive communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to convey complex technical concepts in clear, business-focused terms to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven track record in presales or solution engineering, ideally within a consulting or technology services environment
Nice to Have:
• A track record of successful presales or solution engineering experience, preferably within a consulting or technology services environment
