Job Description

The University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Nutrition-Garden Educator for its Urban Agriculture and Community Sustainability program. This role involves educating students and community members about nutrition and gardening, managing an on-campus garden, developing educational materials, and promoting sustainable food systems. The University of Pennsylvania's Urban Agriculture and Community Sustainability (UACS) program is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Nutrition-Garden Educator to join our team. Come be a part of our mission to cultivate a healthier and more sustainable future for all.\n\nConduct nutrition and gardening education programs for students, faculty, and community members at the University of Pennsylvania's Urban Agriculture and Community Sustainability program.\n\nDevelop and implement lesson plans and educational materials that promote healthy eating habits and sustainable food systems.\n\nMaintain and manage the on-campus nutrition-garden, ensuring its sustainability and productivity.\n\nCollaborate with other team members to plan and execute events and workshops related to nutrition and gardening.\n\nEngage with the community to promote the importance of sustainable food systems and healthy eating.\n\nAct as a representative for the UACS program, effectively communicating its mission and goals to various stakeholders.\n\nFoster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all participants in the nutrition and gardening programs.\n\nStay up-to-date on current research and trends in nutrition and gardening to inform and enhance program activities.\n\nTrain and supervise volunteers and interns to assist with nutrition and gardening education programs and garden maintenance.\n\nParticipate in program evaluation and provide recommendations for improvement and growth.\n\nMaintain records and reports related to program activities, participants, and outcomes.\n\nSupport fundraising and grant writing efforts to sustain and expand the nutrition and gardening programs.\n\nRepresent the UACS program at community events and conferences to promote the organization's mission and initiatives.\n\nComply with all safety regulations and guidelines related to gardening and nutrition education.\n\nContinuously assess and adapt program activities to meet the needs of the target audience and community.
