GoldBug is seeking a Traceability and Sustainability Specialist to support supply chain traceability, product sustainability, and environmental compliance. This role involves managing data, ensuring supplier adherence to programs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The specialist will monitor regulations, oversee the traceability program, and develop internal procedures. Job Summary
The Traceability/Sustainability Specialist (TSS) supports and executes GoldBug’s initiatives pertaining to supply chain traceability, product sustainability and environmental compliance programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams and monitors the regulatory landscape to identify the applicability of regulations and the impact to GoldBug’s business.
This position manages, tracks and reports related data and ensures supplier adherence to established programs and processes throughout the supply chain. It also works closely across multiple teams to develop positive working relationships, ensuring their comprehension and alignment with the defined objectives within the scope of the role.
The TSS is the subject matter expert, responsible for informing the decision-making process and decision makers, as well as, ensuring that retailer requirements are met within corresponding timeframes, engaging the appropriate teams and providing status updates. This role emanates GoldBug’s position in this space and is the TSS point person both internally, and externally within the company, supply chain, and industry.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide oversight and support processes and strategies and customer specific initiatives regarding reporting for GHG emissions through CDP, Conflict Mineral surveys, and other environmental reporting expectations.
• Initiate and roll out the Higg facility modules to suppliers and ensure completion according to customer specific deadlines, this includes coordination and tracking of FEM, vFEM and FSLM.
• Maintain a constant pulse on state, federal, and international regulations (i.e., emerging chemicals of concern, sustainability, and traceability) ensuring the company’s compliance as regulations become effective.
• Oversee and manage the traceability program, which includes scheduling, as well as collecting, evaluating, and verifying chain of custody documents.
• Be proactive and stay current on industry trends related to sustainability and supply chain mapping, communicating updates to appropriate internal and external teams.
• Develop and refine internal procedures, supplier guidelines, tools, and training to scale implementation of pilot programs, in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Inform and educate teams about various certifications and criteria for establishing sustainability claims for products or product inputs.
• Partner with CFT to support material management projects as related to sustainability, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in industry led working groups, workshops, informational webinars, and customer driven training programs, engaging with industry organizations, regulators, and customers.
• Maintain processes to support migration of traceability workflows into technical platform and communicate data management and analysis requirements to internal and third-party teams.
• Communicate all traceability, sustainability and environmental requirements and updates to support teams, keeping suppliers informed of expectations and ensuring ongoing compliance.
The ideal candidate:
• Passionate and committed to sustainable business practices.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in sustainability, supply chain, or regulatory; preferably within the footwear, apparel, or textile industry.
• Knowledge or experience related to chain-of-custody documentation (e.g., cotton, recycled polyester), supply chain mapping and conflict minerals reporting
• Strong understanding of and experience with industry best practices in developing and scaling compliance requirements in manufacturing supply chains, including regional and global organizations.
• Familiarity with global industry trends related to corporate environmental and social responsibility, fair labor practices, and sustainability.
• Strong project management, organizational and communication skills; attention to detail.
• Ability to create strong and meaningful relationships with stakeholders including internal teams, suppliers, and third-party organizations to drive change.
• Capability and willingness to undertake diverse projects
• Proficient skills in MS Office suite and other data analysis and visualization programs. Emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
• Self-motivated to accomplish tasks on time and the ability to manage time efficiently.
• Ability to travel when needed.
Other job Details:
• Salary Range: $62,000-$72,000
• Status: Full-Time
