Graphic Packaging is seeking a Sustainable Engineering Specialist in West Monroe, LA. The role involves developing environmental programs, managing air and wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading waste reduction projects. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, 5-10 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of environmental laws. This is a full-time position.
Job Overview

Our company produces innovative packaging products for various industries, including food, beverage, household, personal care, and pet care. As a key player in the industry, we strive to be environmentally responsible and socially accountable.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Key duties include:
• Developing and maintaining air permitting and wastewater management systems.
• Conducting PSD and netting analyses, preparing and submitting air permits, and meeting with regulators as required.
• Managing hazardous and solid waste, performing waste characterization, and ensuring proper disposal.
• Identifying and implementing projects to reduce water and waste generation.
• Providing environmental expertise and leadership to plant staff, operations, maintenance, engineering, and laboratory personnel.
• Performing periodic environmental audits and developing recommendations for program improvement.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in environmental or process engineering, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office and database programs.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
