Cushing Terrell is seeking a Sustainable Energy Systems Designer in Missoula, MT. The role involves designing innovative power generation and storage systems, including solar and battery storage, to minimize environmental impact. Candidates should have a background in electrical or mechanical engineering, with 5-10 years of relevant experience. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential. This is a full-time position and not remote.
Job Summary:
Sustainable Energy Systems Designers play a crucial role in shaping the future of energy production and consumption. As an Alternative Energy Engineer or Designer, you will be responsible for designing innovative power generation and storage systems that minimize environmental impact while meeting project objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience with behind-the-meter, grid-tied, and remote grid power generation and storage initiatives. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design alternative power generation and storage projects, including solar, micro-hydro, combined heat and power (CHP), and utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS).
• Size systems to meet project objectives and perform all necessary designs and calculations to complete construction documents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or higher education in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Equivalent work experience.
• 5-10 years of job-related experience, including power generation, power distribution, and code design compliance.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain by comity) in the state of the hiring office (not applicable to designer role).
• Knowledge of Autodesk MEP Revit, Autocad, Bluebeam, PVSyst, Homer Pro, Homer Grid, ETAP (or Equal), Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written, verbal communication, and Analytical problem-solving skills.
