The City of Aspen is hiring a Sustainability Programs Administrator to lead programs in the Environmental Health and Sustainability department. About the Role:
The Sustainability Programs Administrator works in the Environmental Health and Sustainability department, leading complex programs related to Aspen's buildings and energy. This role involves conducting scientific analysis, collaborating across departments, leading project teams, and crafting policy recommendations for senior leadership.
Essential Job Functions:
• Programs and Policy: Lead complex programs, conduct scientific analysis, collaborate with departments, lead project teams, and create policy recommendations.
• Resource Efficiency Program Management: Coordinate programs and policies to promote a sustainable built environment, research and implement new policies, develop new programs as needed, and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Climate Action Plan Assistance: Support the Sustainability Manager in coordinating resource efficiency programs with the Aspen Sustainability Action Plan and other goals.
• Building Efficiency and Electrification Outreach: Implement inclusive and equitable programming and outreach, work with communications and collaborators to create strategies for program adoption and public engagement, engage with commercial and residential sectors to identify improvements, and ensure educational campaigns align with partners and goals.

Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Three years of professional experience in scientific analysis, policy development, or program management for environmental and sustainability issues.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (Email), basic understanding of computers and online computer-based technology applications.
