Consigli Construction Co., Inc. is hiring a full-time Sustainability Engineer in New York, NY, with a salary range of $75,000 - $90,000. The role involves supporting sustainability initiatives, including green building certifications (LEED, WELL, etc.), jobsite sustainability reporting, and assisting project teams with sustainability documentation. Job Description

The Sustainability Engineer will focus on supporting project-related sustainability for Consigli, including green building certification (LEED, WELL, Fitwel, PHIUS, CHPS, LBC, etc.), green building code requirements, and jobsite sustainability reporting. This position is also tasked with the supporting the advancement of sustainability practices within Consigli and will report to the Director of Sustainability.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions
• Support project teams on sustainability certifications – LEED, PHIUS, LBC, CHPS, WELL, Fitwel, etc..
• Assist teams with jobsite sustainability plan creation, such as those for waste reduction, air quality management, erosion and sedimentation control.
• Capable and willing to research, learn, and stay current with the ever-changing requirements for LEED, PHIUS, LBC, CHPS, WELL, Fitwel, etc. other sustainability programs, regulatory requirements, and sustainable technologies and construction techniques that influence our work and specific building types.
• Add to updated list of sustainability projects and applicable information where involved.
• Work with project teams to collect all jobsite emissions information and compile monthly report in QuickBase Sustainability Reporting tool.
• Attend project sustainability certification meetings as required (Preconstruction/charrette, Kickoff, and Construction Progress).
• Assist projects with LEED/CHPS/LBC, etc. documentation setup (plans, templates, access to LEED Online).
• Assist project teams on sustainability documentation; train teams on how to read and review sustainability submittals and update templates consistently and timely. Coordinate implementation of Green Badger for LEED specific projects.
• Perform initial QC of all LEED/sustainability documentation before uploading to LEED Online and / or applicable third-party review platforms.
• Attend monthly accountability meetings with teams - on site where possible.
• Assist with monthly reports for sustainability updates to clients.
• Periodic site visits for photo capture and in-person check-ins.
• Support overall sustainability department initiatives and operations.
• Work with supply team to support circularity efforts on projects.
• Attend conferences, USGBC MA, Urban Green, or similar local industry events as required; foster and advance Consigli's positive 'green' reputation through presentations and various forms of engagement within the AEC community as requested.
• Travel to jobsites to assist team members, ensure successful implementation of field procedures, and witness any relevant testing related to sustainability such as blower door tests.

Required Experience
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 0-5 years of experience within Construction Management, Sustainability Consulting, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, or related.
• LEED Green Associate credential.
• Basic knowledge of sustainable construction practices.
• Basic knowledge of embodied and operational carbon and its impact on construction.
• Familiarity with LEED design and construction credits and various versions of LEED.
• Basic knowledge of other sustainability programs such as Passive House, WELL, Fitwel, and Living Building Challenge.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of current industry sustainability trends and topics highly preferred.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, multi-tasking, passionate about sustainability and the built environment.
