Job Description
Danaher Corporation is seeking a Sustainability Communications Specialist in Washington, DC. The role involves building relationships with stakeholders, supporting corporate sustainability communications, creating content calendars, assisting with the annual Sustainability Report, and benchmarking peer practices. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in communications, preferably with a sustainability focus. The salary range is $70,000 - $95,000, with additional benefits.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with key corporate, platform, OpCo and regional stakeholders. These relationships will help inform our communications approach and facilitate execution of our communications plan.
• Corporate Communications Support: Support the communications needs of the corporate sustainability teams, including by contributing to project-specific communications strategies and drafting communications for internal and external stakeholders to drive awareness and engagement with respect to key projects/initiatives.
• Platform and Business Support: Support the communications needs of our Platform Sustainability Leaders, particularly with respect to customer- and commercial-focused sustainability communications.
• Regional Support: Build connections with our regional sustainability teams in key geographies and help ensure consistency in how our enterprise sustainability program is communicated globally.
• Content Calendar Creation: Gather information to develop an annual content calendar for internal and external sustainability communications, detailing what, who, how and when for various communication activities.
• Investor Relations Support: Support sustainability-related Investor Relations engagements, including by developing and maintaining strong process to memorialize such engagements and draw insights therefrom.
• Sustainability Report: Assist in the development and production of the annual Sustainability Report, including with respect to the “look and feel” of the report, graphic design, website placement of certain elements of the report and management of the associate photo contest.
• Process Development: Create and implement processes for gathering content needed for sustainability program communications, with a focus on leveraging the DBS (Danaher Business System) principles.
• Benchmarking: Implement processes to regularly benchmark peer sustainability communications practices, to help assess and inform our own practices.
Experience and Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree; degree in communications, Public Relations, Sustainability, or a related field a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience; work in communications with sustainability-specific experience a plus.
• Organizational & Listening Skills: Excellent organizational and listening skills with the ability to synthesize information from a variety of stakeholders in order to communicate plans clearly and effectively.
• Credibility Building: Ability to build relationships and communications credibility through process and positive partnerships.
• Presentation Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite of tools, with the ability to create compelling presentations for different audiences (e.g., associates, customers, investors, executives).
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $95,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
