Summer Camp Instructor

New Pioneers for a Sustainable Future is hiring temporary camp instructors for a summer day camp from June 23-27, 2025, in Nerinx, KY. Instructors will lead outdoor environmental education activities for youth aged 6-12, collaborate with staff, and assist with a final camp celebration. The role involves selecting activities from a prepared menu and tailoring them to different age groups. No degree is required.
New Pioneers seeks temporary, contracted instructors to co-lead lessons at our new summer day camp, hosted June 23-27, 2025, at the Loretto Motherhouse Farm in Nerinx, KY. Camp instructors will lead activities prepared by camp staff - or creatively develop their own, if desired - providing outdoor, environmental education to youth ages 6-12 during daily rotations.

Focused Responsibilities:
• Leads outdoor, environmental education activities for youth during the “Where the Wild Things Are” Day Camp in 4 daily rotations of 45-60 minutes (final schedule pending)*
• Collaborate with New Pioneers’ Executive Director and Community Educator to fill in additional camp roles during camp hours, as needed
• Assist youth with preparing a final camp celebration presented to parents/guardians and the final camp service project in tandem with the Loretto Community
• New Pioneers has prepared an “activity menu” for instructor use. Each instructor will select activities from this “menu” to meet each day’s theme and will tailor activities to each age group.
