The role

We are currently seeking a seasoned State Business Leader to join our Ports & Maritime team to spearhead our business growth strategy and support our delivery of port, maritime and coastal structures including sea walls, revetment structures, breakwaters and groynes, beach nourishment, jetties, wharves, pontoons, boat ramps, moorings, intakes and outfalls, dredging and reclamation, terminals and land development services.

This role can be based in our Melbourne or Brisbane offices.

As a Business Leader, you will be responsible for executing the State-based operational plan, business development and client relationship activities as well as the sound commercial management of budgets and implementing people practices that motivate teams to perform optimally. This role will be a key client contact and will work closely with Team Leads and the Regional Director to scope opportunity, assign resourcing and deliver on outcomes. They have key accountabilities in project delivery outcomes, resource and office utilisation, cost management and winning new work.

Suitable applicants will demonstrate:
• Ability to strategically plan
• High level of commercial acumen
• Genuine enjoyment drawn from building business, working with clients and winning work across ANZ
• 20+ years of experience in the Ports & Maritime industry or similar sector
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline
• Co-ordinated, designed and delivered major projects – with proven success
• Co-ordinated and developed major bids – with proven success
• Demonstrated ability to actively manage and drive performance in diverse teams
