Job Description
The Solar and Energy Infrastructure Associate role at PER involves leading the development of renewable energy projects in Mexico, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with permitting processes. Candidates should have experience in energy project development, particularly in solar and wind, along with strong analytical and communication skills. This is a full-time position based in Mexico City.
About Our Client
We are working with a leading provider of services to a premier fund management company specializing in energy infrastructure assets. Our client is seeking a Renewable Energy Development Associate to contribute to the development of solar and energy projects in Mexico. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior management and participate in various aspects of project origination, land acquisition, interconnection processes, and general project permitting.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
• Lead the development of renewable energy projects across multiple locations in Mexico.
• Develop and manage development budgets and financial models for each project and portfolio of projects.
• Prepare and present management-level presentations to stakeholders.
• Contribute to portfolio development management, monitoring financial and commercial factors.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external documentation requirements related to the projects.
• Perform analysis for business development opportunities focused on the electricity market and renewables.
• Attend meetings with associations, government agencies, landowners, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in energy and infrastructure conferences and marketing initiatives.
• Communicate with vendors and internal support teams for project implementation and technical support.
• Support due diligence processes for renewable energy projects.
Requirements
• Experience in developing energy and infrastructure projects in Mexico (solar and wind) is essential.
• Familiarity with permitting, licensing, land procurement, and technical aspects for energy and infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, or a related field.
• Proactive leader with strong financial and modeling skills.
• Superior analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical thinker with attention to detail.
• English language proficiency.
