Job Description
Invenergy is hiring a Solar-Wind Associate for its Renewables Asset Management team in Chicago, IL. The role involves financial and operational management of solar and wind projects, including budget development, variance analysis, and performance reporting for investors. The associate will collaborate with engineering teams, manage contracts, and ensure regulatory compliance. A bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience are required.

This position is part of the Renewables Asset Management team, focusing on the financial and operational aspects of solar and wind projects. The Solar-Wind Associate will play a crucial role in assisting with the development of annual budgets for various projects, performing periodic variance analyses, and providing input on pro-forma financial models for generation assets. The role also involves authoring reports on project performance for investors and lenders, assisting in cash flow forecasting and management, and conducting financial analyses of aftermarket improvements. Additionally, the associate will be responsible for developing other ad-hoc analyses as needed to support the team’s objectives. In terms of operations, the associate will collaborate with the operations engineering team to evaluate and improve operational performance. This includes coordinating with project Operations and Maintenance (O&M) staff on various operational items, such as major component repair and replacement. The role will also involve participating in contract development with outside vendors, from soliciting quotes to engaging in final contract negotiations. Furthermore, the associate will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project agreements, including Power Purchase Agreements, Operating Agreements, Credit Agreements, and Operations and Maintenance Agreements.
Responsibilities
• Assist in developing annual budgets for the projects and perform periodic variance analyses

• Assist in cash flow forecasting and management

• Perform financial analyses of aftermarket improvements

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project agreements.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline with coursework in Finance or Accounting
,
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience required
,
• Experience writing, negotiating, and managing contracts
,
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
,
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in the energy/utility sector

• Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering

• Effective communication and collaboration skills
,
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems

• Experience with standard financial metrics and analyses (NPV, IRR, DCF models)
