Solar Service Technician

CTEC Solar is currently seeking to add to our service team a Solar Service Rooftop Technician who will assist our Senior Technicians and Electricians with Residential Rooftop PV module testing, removals and re-installations. While previous photovoltaic system knowledge or rooftop work experience is preferred, CTEC will train candidates with strong work ethic, willingness to learn and positive attitudes.

Responsibilities
• Performing required preventive maintenance activities on commercial PV systems to maintain warranty coverage responding to corrective maintenance cases on PV systems.
• Installation, testing, removal, and maintenance of solar panels and other related electrical equipment.
• Follow corrective action procedures, document work and help update work orders on a daily basis
• Install and repair racking, panels and standoffs for PV systems - roof & ground-mounted systems
• Ability or willingness to learn how to properly read and interpret blueprints and as-builts
• Ensure the company vehicle, tooling, electronics, software, property that is issued are accounted for and taken care of.
• Diagnose and repair system failures at existing solar sites.
• Effectively identify deviations and communicate to management for required changes
• On a consistent basis: Communicate with Customers, Site Technicians, Project Coordinators and Project Managers to ensure timely and efficient resolutions to all site maintenance activities
• Ability or willingness to use our project management and time management software
• Ensure a safe work environment by ensuring strict adherence to company safety protocols

Skills and Qualifications:
• Ability to work on steep roof pitches with the required safety equipment
• Be able to lift 40-80 lbs. consistently throughout the work day
• Ability to set up ladder
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding
• Be able to work in a variety of positions, including: stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting.
• Adhere to safety standards set by company and OSHA
• Be comfortable working outside during all seasons
• Obtain reliable transportation to our Bloomfield office
• Punctual time management
• Positive attitude and a team player
