The role involves conducting electrical safety, performance, and environmental tests on PV modules, developing test procedures, and maintaining test equipment. About the Position:

We are seeking a PV Module Test Technician for electrical safety, performance and environmental exposure tests. As Test Technician you will be responsible for conducting various tests to evaluate the reliability and safety of PV-modules from different manufacturers. You will work with test engineers to develop test procedures, set up and maintain the test equipment, run the tests, collect and analyze the data. Principal Responsibilities:
• Set-up and program test equipment and build fixtures (climate chambers, solar flasher, UV-chambers, electrical and mechanical test equipment, safety tests, outdoor tests)
• Work with test engineers to develop test procedures for safety and performance testing of PV modules according to UL and IEC standards
• Transport, load and unload modules into test equipment and field test devices
• Run and monitor tests
• Record data in databases and spreadsheets, analyze data, and generate test reports
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair test and measurement equipment
• Become knowledgeable in test standards and stay abreast of new industry developments
• Participate in the development of quality and operations standards for accreditation of the test center according to ISO 17025 laboratory standards and other industry standards

Required Experience and Education:
• Associate degree in environmental, electrical, mechanical engineering (or equivalent education)
• Experience in a test laboratory, manufacturing, or similar field
• Electrical and/or mechanical experience in setting-up, operating and servicing high-end test and measuring equipment
• Ability to use spreadsheets and other computer applications, especially in MS Office
• Willingness to participate in continuous learning, mentoring others and working in a team
• This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment. This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. and can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment (PV modules).

Additional Desirable Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in environmental, electrical, mechanical engineering (or equivalent education)
• Ability to program PV-test equipment, including environmental chambers, solar simulators, electrical and mechanical test equipment
• Experience working in a ISO 17025 accredited laboratory or with quality management systems
• Experience building fixtures and optimizing material handling operations
• Experience trouble-shooting and repairing test equipment
• Understanding of PV module test equipment and procedures
• Knowledge of industry standards UL 1703, IEC 61215, 61646, 62108
• Knowledge of CAD software, Laboratory Software, Production Control Systems, or Database Systems
• Light programming skills in Python or MATLAB a plus
