Simple Power Solar is seeking a Solar Design and Permit Technician in Reno, NV, to design electrical systems for residential and commercial solar projects. Simple Power is a fast-growing solar integrator located in Reno, NV, servicing the Reno-Tahoe area. We specialize in residential and commercial grid-tied projects. We are looking for a like-minded, articulate, and accountable individual who is looking for an opportunity to join a well-run family business. The ideal candidate would be willing and eager to work (and sometimes play) alongside us while learning from experts in the green technology industry. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Design electrical systems for residential and commercial projects, provide technical expertise in the design phase of projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client requirements, create detailed electrical drawings using drafting software such as AutoCAD, collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop efficient and effective electrical designs, ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC), perform calculations and analysis to determine system requirements, prepare material lists and cost estimates for electrical components, review and interpret project specifications and requirements, conduct regular design reviews and address any issues that may arise during the duration of the project, conduct periodic job site observations depending on project-specific requirements, provide technical support during the construction and installation phases, stay up to date on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in electrical design, and navigate permitting and approval processes for multiple building departments and jurisdictions.

Requirements
• Background in renewable energy and interconnection

• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
