Job Description

The Senior HSE Officer at DANGOTE GROUP in Abuja, Nigeria, is responsible for managing OSHA safety programs and providing HSE guidance to staff and contractors. Key duties include developing HSE management systems, conducting safety training, accident investigations, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least six years of HSE experience.
Responsible for all aspects of OSHA safety programs, managing and/or supervising various projects while providing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidance to company staff and contractors in order to achieve zero accidents/incidents and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.*Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement an HSE management system.Design and implement programs to raise employee awareness and ensure the practical application of health and safety practices in the workplace.Develop HSE policies and procedures in compliance with standards and legislation.Conduct accident and incident investigations and analyses and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.Propose HSE capacity-building programs, such as defensive driving, OSHA training, etc.Liaise with external stakeholders on HSE matters.Provide an emergency response plan, test it, and update it as necessary.Provide guidance and advice to staff at all levels on HSE-related matters.Supervise HSE personnel.Perform special assignments and other related duties as required.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Proactive identification of workplace hazards and risk analysis to ensure workplace safety.Ensure compliance with legal requirements and DCC policies.Ensure effective implementation of HSE programs.Develop a positive Health, Safety, and Environment culture within DCCI.Candidate Profile
Education and Professional Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health or relevant disciplinesAt least six (6) years of relevant professional experience in HSE or in a similar role.
