Senior Building Performance Expert (HERS Rater)

Deeper Green Consulting INC is seeking a Senior Building Performance Expert (HERS Rater) for a hybrid role based in Frisco, CO. Job Summary:

Deeper Green Consulting is looking for an experienced Senior Building Performance Expert (HERS Rater) to lead energy consulting projects and perform HERS ratings and modeling for high-performance homes. This hybrid position is ideal for someone with building science expertise, client-facing experience, and a passion for sustainable construction.

Responsibilities:
• Manage and coordinate energy efficiency consulting projects from start to finish
• Conduct HERS ratings and create energy models using Ekotrope and SketchUp
• Collaborate with builders, architects, and project stakeholders to optimize designs
• Ensure compliance with IECC, ENERGY STAR, ZERH, and green building standards
• Improve internal processes and support team training
• Travel to project sites in the Mountain Region as needed (25%)

Qualifications:
• RESNET HERS Rater certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
• Experience in construction, energy modeling, or building performance
• Proficiency in Ekotrope, SketchUp, and project tools like Monday.com
• Strong communication and project coordination skills
• Based in Colorado with valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days):
• RESNET HERS Rater (required)
• RESNET HERS Modeler (alternative if not conducting field verifications)
• ENERGY STAR Rater Training
• DOE Zero Energy Ready Home Verifier Training
• IECC or IRC Energy Code familiarity or ICC certification
• BPI Building Analyst or Envelope Professional (bonus)
