Senior Biologist, Wildlife Conservation & Consulting Description

Our client is looking for a Senior Biologist to join their small team headquartered near Concord, CA. In this role, you will spend about 50% of your time coordinating business development projects, preparing technical sections and reports, and conducting resource impact analysis through project lifecycles, about 30% of the time managing (3) field biologists, and about 20% field work, monitoring project areas during construction. Qualified candidates will have at least six (6) years of identification, data collection, and field survey experience of California’s native fish, reptiles, amphibians, and wildlife species, and professional wildlife consulting experience. Candidates should be able to work independently but also enjoy working as a team to find creative solutions that support their mission and commitment to their quality of work. Senior Biologist, Wildlife Conservation & Consulting Responsibilities
• Lead project-level and resource-level investigations
• Review projects for potential impacts to sensitive species
• Prepare technical sections of environmental documents
• Manage, mentor, and support (3) field biologists
• Conduct resource impact analysis in support of NEPA and CEQA documents
• Coordinate with State and Federal agencies; prepare permit applications
• Monitor project areas during construction
• Perform field studies, wetland delineations, habitat assessments, & associated mapping

Senior Biologist, Wildlife Conservation & Consulting Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 6+ years of data collection and field surveying CA native wildlife/habitats experience required
• 6+ years of professional wildlife consulting experience required
• Ability to travel approximately 20% required
• Valid driver's license required
