Gaylor Electric is hiring a Safety Technician in Louisville, KY, responsible for implementing safety programs to minimize workplace accidents. About the position
As a Safety Technician at Gaylor Electric Inc., you will play a crucial role in implementing and enforcing safety programs and procedures to minimize work-related accidents and injuries. Your primary focus will be on aggressive prevention efforts to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. You will be responsible for developing and implementing an accident prevention program tailored to meet specific project safety specifications and requirements. This position requires you to identify necessary safety work permits and ensure compliance with project contract plans. You will also conduct timely incident and investigation reporting to maintain safety standards and improve overall safety performance. In this role, you will report directly to the assigned Project Manager, with guidance provided by the corporate Safety Director. Your contributions will be vital in fostering a culture of safety within the organization, aligning with Gaylor Electric's commitment to the well-being and future of its employees. You will be expected to travel as required to various project sites, ensuring that safety protocols are adhered to across all locations. Your expertise in safety management and administration will be essential in achieving the company's vision of being the highest performing national contractor of excellence.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement an accident prevention program and training plan to meet project safety specs and requirements.

• Identify safety work permits and assure compliance with project contract plans.

• Conduct incident/investigation reporting in a timely manner.
Requirements
• High school graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience.
,
• Previous safety management/administration experience.
,
• Knowledge of construction OSHA rules, regulations and record keeping.
,
• Strong administrative, computer, organization, and communication skills required.
,
• Possesses current certifications in first aid, CPR and AED.
,
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in construction Environmental Health and Safety.

• An academic degree in Occupational Health and Safety and/or a valid certificate as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
