The role

As a Safety, Health and Environment Practitioner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We're looking for a proactive and visionary professional to become part of our dynamic team, taking a leading role in implementing strategic and operational Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) initiatives. Your work will be integral to achieving our business goals, promoting SHE excellence, and creating a safer, more sustainable workplace.

Day-to-day, you’ll support the SHE Lead by implementing safety, quality, and environmental policies, advising operational teams on safety practices, and delivering comprehensive Health and Safety reports, communications, and processes.
• Support the SHE Lead in promoting continuous SHE improvement both locally and across the wider business.
• Implement and uphold Company Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies effectively.
• Provide expert advice to operational teams on the practical application of safety processes.
• Create, maintain, and deliver comprehensive Health and Safety reports, communications, and policies.
• Champion a proactive approach to SHE excellence through collaboration and strategic initiatives.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard

Essential experience of the Safety, Health and Environment Practitioner
• Extensive Health and Safety experience in hazardous industries, with familiarity in Dockyard operations, Royal Navy, or similar environments.
• Evident passion for SHE, showcased through experience and interview readiness.
• Excellent communication skills and collaboration abilities to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications for the Safety, Health and Environment Practitioner
• Hold as a minimum a NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent Level 3 qualification) and /or is working towards a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (or an equivalent level 6+ qualification).
• Have the ambition to achieve Chartered status with IOSH or a similar professional body.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
