Verdanterra is currently looking for an experienced civil engineer/project manager to join our renewables team. This position will support our team in managing, designing and permitting of solar generation facilities throughout the United States. This manager will join other leaders in the group as they work to complete projects, integrate our multi-discipline approach, and develop more market share within the renewables marketplace. The position works closely with our clients, contractors, and project managers to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate would be willing to commute or relocate to either of our offices in Madison, Wisconsin or Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. A remote position may be considered for an experienced candidate.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and staff allocation plans, while aligning with engineering standards and best practices.
• Work closely with clients to understand their engineering requirements, address technical concerns, and ensure alignment with project expectations and objectives.
• Assist the engineering team in the design, development, and construction of solar projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Guide the preparation of, and provide QA/QC review on, engineering deliverables including stormwater calculations, plan drawings, and permit applications.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations to support permit applications and project approvals.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and best practices in stormwater management and erosion control for energy projects.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the project team, including engineers, surveyors, and environmental scientists to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of stormwater management principles, practices, and methods.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to stormwater management and erosion control for energy projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and other relevant software applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsk
• High level of integrity with a strong emphasis on making and meeting commitments.

Required Background:
• Bachelor (B.S.) degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of five years of experience in project engineering, preferably in support of solar projects
