Job Description
Ecoplexus is seeking a Renewable Energy Solar Development Director for the Central region, with the option to work remotely. The role involves leading project development, managing teams, overseeing site acquisition and permitting, and participating in sales and marketing activities. Candidates should have over 6 years of experience in renewable energy development, particularly in solar and wind projects. A degree in finance, law, or a related field is preferred.

Ecoplexus Inc. is a rapidly growing renewable energy developer and independent power producer (IPP), targeting the utility scale renewable energy and energy storage markets. The company has developed, built, and operates over 80 projects in the U.S. and Japan, with a substantial development pipeline of solar, wind, and energy storage assets in North America and Asia.
Position Overview
We are seeking a talented self-starter to lead our project development activities in the U.S. Central region, working closely with senior management. This position will coordinate interconnection, permitting, real estate, GIS, finance, origination, and engineering teams to achieve project and company goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage regional project development activities including site acquisition, permitting, entitlement work, interconnection, transmission planning, and revenue contract origination.
• Recommend a portfolio investment strategy for the region, developing project and portfolio level budgets and timelines.
• Oversee junior developers, managing a team of internal subject matter experts and/or outside consultants to deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Participate in or lead sales and marketing activities for utility and non-utility offtakers and programs, coordinating responses to utility requests for proposals.
• Identify prospects for mergers and acquisitions, assist in diligence activities, and lead or participate in agreement negotiations.
• Negotiate consulting agreements and manage consultants.
• Assist in creating and maintaining project reporting processes to optimize development spend and risk reduction across the project portfolio.
• Support the Executive and Finance Teams during investor due diligence.
• Provide regular updates to the Executive Team and raise concerns promptly when necessary.
• Ensure a smooth transition to the Ecoplexus operations team as projects progress to construction, providing post-development support as needed.
Requirements
6+ years of experience with wind, solar, or thermal energy development, preferably in the U.S. Central region. A degree in finance, law, or energy business related field is preferred. Proven experience in successfully developing large-scale solar, wind, and/or energy storage projects in the United States is required.
