Ecoplexus is hiring an Associate - Project Finance for a remote position based in the U.S. The role involves supporting project finance and development teams by conducting financial analyses, modeling debt and tax equity structures, and managing project M&A activities. Ideal candidates should have a solid understanding of project finance, strong quantitative skills, effective communication abilities, and a detail-oriented mindset. Responsibilities include building financial models, managing due diligence, and coordinating with various stakeholders throughout the deal process.

Job Overview - Associate

We are seeking a talented self-starter, who is highly motivated and capable of assuming increasing responsibility in a dynamic growth environment. Based in the U.S. (remote), the Associate will assist Ecoplexus' U.S. based project finance and development teams by performing & coordinating financial analysis related to project acquisitions and development, modeling debt and tax equity financial structures, and managing closing activities for project M&A, debt, and tax equity financings. Assignments will include modeling project economics, auditing analyst work products, organizing project due diligence, managing relationships with lenders, tax equity investors, and consultants, and coordinating with internal teams to support contract negotiation and closing processes. There is opportunity for additional responsibilities and professional growth for candidates who learn quickly and apply themselves.

The ideal candidate will have the following :
• Solid understanding of project finance concepts, debt & tax equity structures, and deal execution
• Strong quantitative aptitude with advanced Excel and modeling skills, VBA and SQL skills a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership of work product
• Highly resourceful, organized, and comfortable working in an unstructured, entrepreneurial environment; this is a transaction-based environment where requirements and deadlines are dictated by deal flow and an ability to manage competing priorities is essential
• Capability to read and interpret legal contracts

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

Valuation & Modeling
• Build, run, and audit complex financial models. Analyze valuation metrics across a variety of scenarios. Summarize and present conclusions to drive key decision-making processes (stage-gate meetings, investment review committee, etc.)
• Coordinate updates to internal valuation database and develop understanding and ability to explain the source of all model inputs
• Synthesize market intelligence from internal stakeholders, financing parties, consultants, and other external sources into digestible and actionable conclusions

Deal Origination & Execution
• Manage and audit finance & development marketing materials
• Interface & organize diligence with financing parties, related counsel, and consultants from term sheet origination through deal closings
• Coordinate internal finance, development, legal, engineering, and construction resources to complete diligence requests.
• Review and support negotiation of project finance or M&A contractual agreements
• Manage appraisers, tax consultants, and insurance consultants in creation of appraisal, cost segregation, financial closing model, and insurance reports for closing processes

Other Responsibilities
• Market research & analysis
• Corporate FP&A rollup review & support
• Support other corporate objectives as needed

Required Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree required; quantitative disciplines are desired
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience; work experience in renewable energy, private equity, investment banking, real estate or other transactional finance a significant plus
