American Cruise Lines is hiring a Renewable Energy Engineer in Asbury, IA, to oversee the operation and maintenance of onboard machinery on cruise ships. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, ensuring safety compliance, managing maintenance schedules, and enhancing guest service. Candidates must have experience with diesel machinery and possess strong communication skills. This full-time position requires working 7 days a week onboard with a rotation of 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off.

As an Engineer, you will help operate our state-of-the-art vessels that sail unique itineraries along the beautiful waterway routes of the East Coast, Pacific Northwest, Great Lakes, and more. Your expertise will ensure the impeccable performance and safety standards of our cruise ships, which accommodate 100-200 guests seeking a five-star experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all onboard machinery including propulsion and auxiliary systems. Conduct regular inspections and respond promptly to technical issues and emergencies. Assist with vessel docking and logistical operations. Implement and manage maintenance schedules to optimize equipment performance. Ensure full compliance with safety standards and maritime regulations. Document maintenance work, repair activities, and inventory management. Execute emergency procedures for incidents such as engine failures or flooding. Promote a culture of safety and supervise adherence to protocols among the crew. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both crew and passengers. Participate in daily Deck Security Watch and optimize fuel consumption to reduce impacts. Manage supplies, spare parts, and oversee contractor repairs. Work collaboratively with hotel officers to enhance guest service. Exhibit exemplary grooming, uniform presentation, and professional conduct at all times.Qualifications:

Proven experience with diesel machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Strong knowledge of shipboard machinery and auxiliary systems. Demonstrated work ethic, discipline, and attention to personal grooming. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to follow technical procedures and assist in maintenance and troubleshooting tasks. Possession of a TWIC Transportation Worker Identification Card. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and ongoing random testing is required. Capability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.Work Schedule:

Work 7 days a week while onboard. Participate in a year-round rotation of 4 weeks on: 4 weeks off. This is a full-time, exempt position.Essential Functions:

Ability to thrive in a constantly moving environment, as vessels experience various motions including surge and pitch. Work approximately 12 hours a day, standing for extended periods. Capability to quickly respond to emergencies, including climbing up a ladder and maneuvering through hatches. Physically capable of lifting up to 20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Willingness to stay onboard for extended periods and navigate stairs regularly.Compensation and Benefits:
