Job Description

Larimer County is hiring for temporary Reforestation positions from June 30 to September 30, focusing on data collection in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. Candidates will work in pairs to gather regeneration and cone survey data to aid reforestation efforts post-wildfires. The role requires familiarity with data collection tools and knowledge of tree species in Northern Colorado. Work involves overnight camping and a standard schedule of Monday through Thursday.
The Larimer County Conservation Corps (LCCC) offers positions to young adults to spend a season serving on meaningful conservation projects throughout the Front Range of Colorado. The LCCC is based in Fort Collins, Colorado and is an accredited corps through the Colorado Youth Corps Association and The Corps Network.

This new individual site placement (ISP) position works directly with the US Forest Service and National Forest Foundation to collect regeneration data and cone survey data in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests.

These are 4 temporary positions from June 30 – September 30 (tentative). Individuals will work in pairs in the Cameron Peak and East Troublesome burn scars collecting data on regeneration and cone production. This information will assist Forest Service staff in identifying cone crops for collection, which will help increase the supply of native seeds for reforestation efforts in post-fire recovery areas.

The standard schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with overnight camping near the worksite from Monday evening through Wednesday evening. This schedule is subject to change based on holidays, training requirements, weather conditions, logistics, or other unforeseen factors.
