We currently have an immediate opportunity for R&D Lab Technicianto join the POWDER DIVISION at our ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA location. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Summary:
The R&D Laboratory Technician assists in the development of new products for Nellson Nutraceutical. Creates a close partnership with Nellson Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Business Development, and Nellson R&D to accomplish company and personal goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Support the development of commercially successful and innovative new products for the powder business from concept to commercialization.
• Assist the R&D Scientists in formulating new products and improving existing items.
• Accurately measure a variety of ingredients for different formulas and projects.
• Prepare lab samples for shipment and customer/sales review.
• Responsible for laboratory organization and maintaining raw ingredient inventory.
• Responsible for organizing raw material specifications and updating formulation folders.
• Assist other R&D team members and departments with projects and product issues.
• Participate in production scale ups and pre-production runs of customer approved formulations.
• Assist Quality Assurance and Operations in troubleshooting production problems.
• Assist in the improvement, organization, and efficiency of the Nellson ANA R&D lab.
• Perform any other duty deemed appropriate by the R&D Director or Project Leaders.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
• High School diploma or GED required. Two years college level science program preferred.
• 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in the food, supplement industry. Quality Assistance or R&D experience preferable.

• Intermediate communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine correspondence, work instructions and procedures.
• Basic skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. Able to compute ratios and percentages.
• Demonstrates self-management by consistently being at work on time, takes responsibility for own actions, takes initiative, and meets productivity standards.
