Project Manager

Atana is seeking a Project Manager in George, South Africa, with expertise in project management for resilient cities and water infrastructure. Responsibilities include mentoring team members, preparing proposals, and managing projects. Candidates should have a relevant degree, PMP certification, and 10 years of experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in English and Afrikaans are essential. The role requires willingness to travel within the Southern Cape.
Technical expertise:
Project management expertise required in resilient cities and water infrastructure projects;Provide knowledge and experience-based competency to perform project management-specific consultancy services;Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in- and outside Atana in the disciplines required to deliver projects. This includes the link with data science and digital services;Actively explore opportunities to apply a Digital Way of Working in projects, identify internal and external needs and organise efforts to automate and standardize processes or make them more efficient, andRaise brand awareness in Atana relevant sectors.
Capacity Building:
Be a team player and contribute to the skill development and transfer of knowledge of the climate resilience team by mentoring junior and midlevel professionals;Actively share your knowledge and experience with your team;Create a learning environment where colleagues are trained and can be developed to independent resources.
Proposals and Project Management:
Prepare or lead preparation of proposals and tenders.Act as project manager for climate resilience and water services projects in Business Line Water South Africa.
Job Requirements
Desired Qualifications and Professional Registration



BEng/BSc/BTech Civil


PMP, SACPCMP, Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng mandatory.


10 years’ post-qualification experience


Professional registration with ECSA or working toward this


Be able to consistently deliver high quality, accurate and timely work


Ability to work in English and Afrikaans


Willingness to travel within the Southern Cape
Resident in George


Must have valid drivers’ license and own vehicle
