Lodha Group is hiring a Program Manager/Lead for Building Materials in Maharashtra, India. The role focuses on reducing embodied carbon through low carbon materials and construction practices, particularly in concrete, steel, and aluminum. Job Profile:

We are seeking a Program Lead - Building Materials to lead our embodied carbon reduction initiatives by driving a the use of low carbon materials and construction technologies and practices. With special focus on concrete, steel, aluminium and other key materials, the applicant shall have strong understanding of material performance and deep experience in construction industry. The role will involve leveraging field performance data to support design improvements as well as drive national policy initiatives and the market development of sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Strategies: Lead initiatives aimed at reducing embodied carbon in the built environment in India, supporting these efforts through demonstration projects at Lodha in alignment with its net zero trajectory.

Supply Chain Development and Engagement: Assess key material supply chains for innovative solutions and global best practices in material usage and sustainability. Collaborate closely with procurement teams and the supply chain to ensure alignment with net zero roadmaps and sustainability objectives.

Engage with Industry and Experts: Collaborate with external expert groups, consultants, think tanks, and industry stakeholders to promote best practices and foster collaboration in low carbon material selection, construction methods, and demand generation.

Pilot and Scale Solutions: Design and implement pilot projects to test low carbon materials and new construction technologies, scaling successful initiatives across projects and generating market demand signals for effective pilots.

Collaborate with Design and Construction Teams: Work closely with Lodhas design and construction teams to integrate sustainable material practices into project design and execution.

Continuous Learning and Adaptation: Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in material sciences, sourcing, and sustainability to continuously enhance practices.

Communicate Impact: Promote sustainable urbanization by showcasing the deployment of low carbon solutions at scale within Lodha, influencing national policy and generating market demand to mainstream sustainable urbanization in India.

Qualifications:

- Master’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Material Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related field from a leading Indian or global institution.

- Proven experience in sustainability initiatives focusing on material selection and embodied carbon reduction.

- Familiarity with procurement, design and execution processes in construction projects.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

- Have demonstrated technical writing expertise, in form of research papers, reports and shall also be able to communicate with stakeholders in driving awareness and adoption.

- Passion for driving change towards a sustainable future.
