Job Description
The Center for EcoTechnology is hiring a full-time Program Consultant for Waste Diversion, focusing on waste reduction, reuse, composting, and recycling. The role involves providing technical assistance, producing written content, assisting with events, and performing research. Applicants must be located in Central/Eastern Massachusetts or Rhode Island. While the position can be fully remote, there is an option to work from a co-working space in Northampton, MA.
CET is hiring a Program Consultant focusing on Waste Diversion In this full-time role, you will work with businesses on generating reduction, reuse, composting, and recycling. As a Program Consultant, you will provide expertise, planning, and assistance to assigned waste diversion programs and initiatives.
Applicants for this position must be located in Central/Eastern Massachusetts or Rhode Island. This position can be fully remote. However, if you are in or near Northampton, Massachusetts, you can also work from our co-working space at the Old School Commons.
In this position, you will:
Provide waste management technical assistance and program information to customers and prospects over the phone and email.
Produce written content such as emails, newsletters, reports, web content, and/or presentations.
Assist with virtual and in-person events, such as planning logistics, hosting virtual meetings, recruiting speakers, collecting registrations, and networking.
Perform research on alternative outlets for waste materials.
Enter data into appropriate platforms to track customer interactions and results.
Generate regular client invoices and reports, compiling metrics and progress towards program deliverables.
Act as liaison with vendors, partners, customers, and other stakeholders.
Some travel throughout Central/Eastern MA and RI to deliver in-person presentations.
The Skills You Bring
At least 2 years of customer service experience and written communications experience, or 3-4 years of customer service (phone, email) and written deliverable (writing newsletters, blogs, program outcome reporting) experience.
1 year of waste-related field experience is preferred.
Excellent writing skills and can draft clear, well-organized, engaging written material for tip sheets, case studies, blog posts, and other web content.
Strong communication skills with an ability to establish rapport with customers, clients, vendors, and coworkers on the phone, over email, in meetings, and at presentations and events.
Excel at using Microsoft Office. Experience using spreadsheets and other digital tools to track and report on data. Experience in CRM platforms helpful, Salesforce preferred.
Accuracy and attention to detail required.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Ability to work with multiple programs and deliverables in a collaborative environment.
High-speed internet access and a working location free from distractions and interference during business hours.
Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian, or Chinese is helpful but not required. Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time position. You may work remotely or from our Northampton, Massachusetts office. CET will provide you with a laptop and other office technology.
