Job Description

Astute People is hiring a Plant Attendant for a new Energy from Waste Power Station in Lochgelly, UK. The role involves supporting plant operations, conducting inspections, and operating mobile plant equipment. Candidates should have experience in heavy process environments and relevant mobile plant licenses are advantageous. The position offers a salary of £30,000 plus benefits, and extensive training during the commissioning period.
Astute's Power Team is partnered with a global company, who specialise with the Energy from Waste industry, to recruit for a Plant Attendant to join their new-build Energy from Waste Power Station in Fife, Scotland. This opportunity will be working through the final commissioning period into full operations, so it will be a fantastic opportunity to familiarise yourself with the plant with extensive training going into full operations. The EfW will process 240,000 tonnes of waste per annum, exporting 23MW of electricity to the grid.

The Plant Attendant role comes with a salary of £30,000 + £2,500 shift allowance + Bonus + Private Medical + Pension + Benefits.

Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
• Support the Shift Technician with the safe and efficient operation of the plant during normalised running hours and during start-up/shut-down procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections/walk rounds to ensure the plant is operating as intended.
• Report of incidents in a timely manner
• Carry out first line maintenance.
• Drive and operating a range of mobile plant including forklift trucks, front loading shovel and excavators etc. in the tipping hall area as well as the ash hall
• Operating the weighbridge for when lorries are coming to site to deliver the waste
• Ensure compliance with the Environmental Permit and H&S Legislation

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
• Mobile plant licences would be highly advantageous (forklift, counterbalance, front loading shovel, etc)
• Ideally an engineering related qualification at C&G/NVQ/ONC level (not a necessity)
• Experience working in a heavy process environment such as Power Station, Biomass, Aggregate/Tarmac/Cement Works, Steel Works, Paper Mill etc

Personal skills and prior experience
The Plant Attendant role would suit someone who has:
• Prior experience working in a heavy process environment such as Power Station, Biomass, Aggregate/Tarmac/Cement Works, Steel Works, Paper Mill etc
• Good teamworking skills to adapt to different duties when required

• Shift allowance of £2,500 (role is working days but split shifts during the days)
