Job Description

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas is hiring a Part Time Environmental Service Technician in Topeka, KS. The role involves maintaining cleanliness in an office by performing tasks like sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing restrooms. The position requires attention to detail and good communication skills. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This job is not remote and requires onsite presence.
The Part time Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in an office building. The position involves performing general cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and restocking supplies in restrooms and common areas. The position ensures that all assigned areas are cleaned to a high standard and helps support a safe, professional, and welcoming workplace for employees, customers, and visitors.

This position is eligible to work onsite at our Topeka campus. The hours are Monday- Friday 3:30- 8:30 p.m

Compensation

$16.96- $21.20

What you'll do

Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and surface disinfection throughout the office buildingClean and sanitize restrooms, restock supplies, and ensure all areas are tidy and well-maintainedEmpty and sanitize trash and recycling containers; transport waste to designated disposal areasClean windows, glass surfaces, and entryways as assignedMaintain cleanliness in shared spaces such as lobbies, elevators, kitchens, and conference roomsMonitor and replenish cleaning and restroom supplies as neededOperate basic cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor buffers, etc.) safely and efficientlyFollow health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures
What you need

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work independently and manage time effectivelyStrong attention to detail and commitment to cleanlinessGood communication skills and a customer service mindset Basic knowledge of proper use of cleaning supplies and operation of equipmentAbility to follow written and verbal instructions
Education and Experience:
GED or vocational training in commercial housekeeping preferred.One year previous work related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periodsExposure to cleaning chemicals, bodily fluids, and other potentially hazardous materialsBenefits & Perks
