Job Description
We are seeking a Principal to lead and grow our Oil and Gas / Energy Finance Managed Services practice. This leader will be responsible for building the vertical strategy, expanding market presence, developing client relationships, and shaping finance focused managed services solutions for companies across the energy sector.
This is a senior leadership role for a market facing executive who brings deep finance and industry experience, strong commercial instincts, and the ability to translate complex client needs into scalable managed services solutions. The Principal will help clients strengthen finance operations, improve visibility and control, modernize processes, and create more resilient operating models. The ideal candidate brings a combination of industry credibility, commercial leadership, and operating model experience. This person will help position Managed Services as a strategic operating partner to energy clients rather than a traditional outsourcing provider
The role is focused exclusively on the Finance function and includes leadership across finance transformation, controllership support, close and reporting, FP&A support, procure to pay, order to cash, cash flow visibility, compliance, and finance related application support.
Key Responsibilities
Practice leadership
Lead the Oil and Gas / Energy Finance Managed Services practice as the senior industry leaderDefine the growth strategy, market priorities, and solution focus for the practice Build a differentiated point of view around finance managed services for the energy sectorPartner across the firm to align industry strategy, managed services capabilities, and client prioritiesHelp establish the practice as a recognized leader in finance operations and transformation for energy clients
Business development and revenue growth
Originate and close new business within the Oil and Gas / Energy sectorBuild relationships with CFOs, CAOs, controllers, finance leaders, private equity sponsors, and portfolio company executivesIdentify and pursue opportunities across new logos, existing clients, and cross sell relationshipsLead strategic pursuits, solution development, executive presentations, and pricing discussionsDevelop a strong and actionable pipeline that supports practice growth goals

Client advisory and executive engagement
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior finance executivesHelp clients assess their current finance function, identify gaps, and define a future state modelPosition managed services as a strategic enabler of stronger finance performance, not simply a staffing alternativeSupport clients through finance modernization, process redesign, control enhancement, and operating model evolutionAct as executive sponsor for priority client relationships within the practice
Internal collaboration and capability building
Partner with delivery leaders to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with client outcomesInform talent strategy for the practice, including capability needs, leadership requirements, and industry expertiseContribute to the development of playbooks, solution assets, and industry specific offeringsSupport recruiting, mentoring, and development of talent aligned with the practiceProvide leadership input into annual planning, forecasting, and investment priorities
Qualifications
20+ years of experience in finance, consulting, managed services, outsourcing, or transformation, with significant experience in Oil and Gas or EnergyProven leadership experience in building or scaling a practice, service line, or industry verticalDeep understanding of finance operating models and managed services solutionsStrong commercial track record with demonstrated success in business development and executive relationship managementExperience advising CFOs, controllers, and finance leadership teams on transformation, performance improvement, and finance operations
