The Nature & Climate Advisor supports infrastructure projects across the United Kingdom and Ireland by integrating ecological best practices and nature-based solutions. This role focuses on biodiversity net gain, environmental assessments, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable outcomes.
Responsibilities
Integrate ecological and environmental best practices into infrastructure projects
Support environmental and sustainability screening to identify risks and opportunities
Provide specialist advice on ecology and environmental issues to project teams
Review biodiversity net gain assessments and advise on project design integration
Collaborate with internal biodiversity networks to share knowledge and best practices
Support training initiatives related to nature-based solutions
Contribute to broader sustainability team activities
Minimum Requirements
Degree in ecology, environmental impact assessment, or related field
Experience working on infrastructure projects with stakeholders and regulators
Knowledge of terrestrial and freshwater habitats in the United Kingdom
Understanding of environmental challenges in changing climate conditions
Knowledge of UK and Ireland ecological legislation and habitat management
Membership or eligibility for professional body such as CIEEM
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Experience using biodiversity net gain metrics
